1. Information we collect
- Account data — When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password.
- Profile data — Photos and bio you voluntarily add to your public profile.
- Review data — The text, rating, photos, and timestamp of every review you submit.
- Usage data — Pages visited, search queries, clicks, and device/browser information collected via server logs and first-party analytics.
- Location data — City-level location inferred from your IP address. We do not collect precise GPS coordinates unless you explicitly grant permission.
- Communications — Any email or in-app message you send to our support team.
2. How we use your information
- To operate and improve the platform — personalise search results, detect spam, and fix bugs.
- To communicate with you — confirmation emails, security alerts, and (only with your consent) product updates.
- To enforce our policies — detect fake reviews, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.
- To comply with law — respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Data sharing
- Service providers — We share data with vetted vendors (hosting, email delivery, analytics) under strict data-processing agreements.
- Business listings — Your public reviews and profile name are visible to all site visitors.
- Legal requirements — We may disclose data when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
- Business transfers — If Bizmapster is acquired, user data may transfer to the new owner under the same privacy commitments.
5. Your rights
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Deletion — Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Portability — Receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Opt-out — Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the link in the email footer.

6. Data retention
- We retain account data for as long as your account is active.
- Deleted accounts are purged within 30 days except where retention is required by law.
- Anonymised, aggregated analytics data is retained indefinitely.
7. Security
- All data is transmitted over TLS 1.2+.
- Passwords are hashed with bcrypt (cost factor 12).
- We conduct regular security reviews and promptly patch known vulnerabilities.
- No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's privacy
- Bizmapster is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it immediately.
9. Changes to this policy
- We may update this policy from time to time. The 'Last updated' date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of Bizmapster after changes constitutes acceptance.
